LINDSEY
CARNETT
Multimedia Journalist
About Me
I was born and raised in San Antonio. I received my B.A. in telecommunication media studies from Texas A&M in May of 2016, while minoring in journalism. I became a news reporter for the A&M student newspaper — The Battalion — my sophomore year of college and climbed to be managing editor of "The Batt" throughout my time in school, helping instate a multimedia desk my senior year.
I spent two summers interning in New York City with Fox News and FoxNews.com before landing an internship at the San Antonio Express-News where I was offered a full-time position just three weeks later as a web producer. I did a year of night producing before I was promoted to multimedia producer for ExpressNews.com, where my main tasks became producing and editing videos, livestream feeds and podcasts.

I produced several series, including "This is S.A." which profiled interesting people around San Antonio, "Chuck's Food Shack" which was a cooking segment, and "Texas Power Brokers" which featured profiles of important business men and women around San Antonio.

Wanting to get back to my true love, writing, I became the growth reporter for the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung and wrote primarily about new businesses, population trends and how growth was impacting local transportation, schools and more. At the time, New Braunfels was the 2nd fastest growing city in the US, and Comal County was the 2nd fastest growing county, which meant there was a lot for me to write about. I loved the community and people of New Braunfels, but I missed my home, San Antonio.

Today I am the technology reporter for the Rivard Report. My beat covers everything from electric scooters and new start ups in town to the daunting digital divide disproportionately affecting impoverished communities in San Antonio. With technology relating the future of almost everything, its a fast-paced beat that's keeping me on my toes.
I shoot many of my own photos and have taken the time to take several online photography classes to improve my photography skills. I sometimes work as a freelance family portrait photographer on the side, which I enjoy immensely.

Journalism is my greatest passion. I have sharp news judgement, I am a quick learner and proficient in many digital journalism skills.
